American missionary Kevin Rideout, who was abducted in Niger, has been released after more than nine months in captivity and is returning home to the United States.
SIM International confirmed his release, saying it was grateful to announce that Rideout, described by the organization as “a good friend and brother in Christ,” had been freed after more than nine months in detention.

President Donald Trump celebrated Kevin Rideout’s release in a post on Truth Social, saying Rideout was preparing to fly home to the United States after being reunited with his wife, Krista.
Trump said he looks forward to seeing Rideout and his wife at the White House. According to Trump, Rideout is the 110th captive American freed since the president’s inauguration.
