Polish government officials met with a US delegation earlier this month.
A meeting between Hegseth and the Polish defense minister is set to take place at the Pentagon.
Earlier this month, top Polish government and military officials met in Poland with a U.S. delegation led by a Pentagon policy office leader, Will Cappelletti — its deputy assistant secretary of defense for Europe and NATO policy. The group discussed enhancing the U.S. military presence in the central European nation.
Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz met with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth during a June visit to Brussels. The Polish official indicated then the country was open to having another U.S. military facility.
The Polish defense minister is set to meet with Hegseth again at the Pentagon, where the two are planning to discuss potential Russian threats on NATO’s eastern flank, central European country security and a proposed PAC-3 missile service center, according to Polish broadcaster Polsat News.
