The Tikvah Fund is hosting The Jewish Leadership conference at Pier Sixty in New York. The event will include many Conservative speakers – one of which is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

DeSantis is set to discuss “the Florida model and why it’s good for religious Americans.”

From The New York Times:

The Tikvah Fund, a conservative Jewish organization, was all set to host a conference in June at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York, when months of planning were suddenly derailed by its last-minute addition of a speaker who might have once been uncontroversial: the Republican governor of Florida.

The fund had invited Gov. Ron DeSantis to discuss the vibrancy of Jewish life in Florida, a topic the fund wrote about in the April issue of its magazine, one month after Mr. DeSantis had signed legislation that prohibits classroom instruction and discussion about sexual orientation and gender identity in elementary schools.

The left is lashing out.

New York lawmakers and activists are trying to get the event canceled due to DeSantis’ inclusion in the event.

From Bloomberg:

New York lawmakers called on the Chelsea Piers entertainment center to cancel an upcoming event that includes Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, saying his appearance would be an insult to the city’s LGBTQ community.

…

Assemblymember Deborah Glick and Council Member Erik Bottcher, who also represent the area, joined Hoylman in expressing outrage at DeSantis’s inclusion in the event, as did US Representative Mondaire Jones and Assemblymember Yuh-Line Niou, Democrats currently running for the state’s 10th Congressional District.

New York State Senator Brad Holyman demanded the event be canceled.

Rep. Jerry Nadler smeared DeSantis as “a vocal opponent of LGBTQ+ rights and equality.”

Dave Rubin responded to the smearing of DeSantis by blasting the left saying “You people find problems everywhere except where they really are.”
