Robert F Kennedy Jr is planning on dropping out of the presidential race and might be endorsing Donald Trump according to ABC News.

The report cautioned that nothing was finalized.

ABC News reported:

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is planning to drop out of the presidential race by the end of this week, sources familiar with the decision tell ABC News.

Sources tell ABC News that Kennedy plans to endorse Donald Trump — but when asked directly by ABC News if he will be endorsing the former president, Kennedy said, “I will not confirm or deny that.”

Sources cautioned the decision is not yet finalized and could still change, with one source adding that Kennedy’s hope is, in part, to finalize things quickly in order to try to blunt momentum from the Democratic National Convention.

One possible scenario being discussed is for Kennedy to appear on stage with Trump at an event in Phoenix on Friday, though the sources cautioned that Kennedy’s thinking could always change and sources close to Trump say no plan for Friday is finalized.

Trump reacted to the news in an interview on Fox and Friends.

Fox News reported:

Former President Trump responded to rumors that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is planning to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race and endorse him on Thursday.

Trump made the comments during a Thursday morning interview with Fox and Friends.

“Mr. president, yesterday there was a big announcement. Big rumors are spreading that RFK Jr might be dropping out, might be endorsing you. His spokesperson said they will give a live address tomorrow about his path forward. And now there are rumors that he might join you at this rally in Arizona tomorrow to announce that he’s supporting you. What’s the truth?” Fox host Ainsley Earhardt asked.

“I’ve known him for a long time. He’s a as you know, he’s a little different kind of a guy. Very smart guy, a very good person. If he endorsed me, I would be honored by it. I would be very honored by it. He really has his heart in the right place. He is a respected person. Women love some of his policies and I guess some people don’t like some of his policies,” Trump said. “But overall…They treated him very badly. I think he would have, you know, he goes around saying he would have beaten Biden in the primary.”
