Gas prices have dropped almost 50 cents over the last month.
On Thursday, the average price per gallon nationally is $3.83.
Motorists heading out for the Independence Day holiday weekend are seeing lower prices at the pump, according to AAA.
The national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline fell to $3.83 on Thursday, down nearly 50 cents from a month ago, providing some relief as millions of Americans prepare to travel.
Although prices remain higher than they were a year ago, the national average has dropped significantly since peaking at $4.56 per gallon on May 21, AAA said.
Today’s national average is $3.838 per gallon, compared with $3.918 one week ago, $4.290 one month ago and $3.172 one year ago.
Trump revealed that certain gas stations in Philadelphia will be lowering their gas prices ahead of the 4th of July.
President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced that fuel prices will be lowered at select gas stations in the Philadelphia area just ahead of the Fourth of July holiday, as he boasted that oil and gas prices are dropping.
On Friday, Freedom Fuel Network will be lowering gas prices at 25 stations across the Greater Philadelphia Area, according to Trump.
“As we approach America’s 250th Birthday, I am pleased to announce that a VERY smart Retailer, located throughout the Northeast, is stepping up, and wishing the People of Philadelphia a ‘Happy Birthday!'” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump said Freedom Fuel Network is “taking the lead” and urged other retailers to follow.
