Donald Trump’s bid for re-election got more good news.
GOP Senator Josh Hawley just endorsed President Trump.
Hawley said, “Trump doesn’t need to worry. I’m with him. He’s asked me several times to support him. I said yes. And I’ve been saying for a year that I think he’s gonna be the nominee.”
Hawley is the 18th senator to back Donald Trump.
Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley on Tuesday endorsed former President Donald Trump’s bid to return to the White House in 2024.
“President Trump doesn’t need to worry. I’m with him. He’s asked me several times to support him. I said yes. And I’ve been saying for a year that I think he’s gonna be the nominee. I support him. I’m gonna vote for him. Don’t worry — you can put me down as support, endorsed, stand with,” Hawley told Politico.
His endorsement made the senior senator from Missouri the 18th upper chamber lawmaker to back the ex-commander-in-chief. Hawley, for his part, faces reelection in 2024, though Missouri is typically regarded as a Republican-leaning state.
Hawley’s comments, however, follow a vague warning from Trump over the weekend for both Hawley and Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz to “be careful” amid Democratic challenges.
